This weekend i went to go watch doctor strange with my mom and uh. It was a pretty good movie and typically on this channel, i just talk about stocks and stuff, but uh. You know, as most people know, i really like the stock amc, so uh, something important about the business model behind a movie theater company is that people watch the movies. So i thought you know, let's try something new talk about my experience at the movies and uh.

Maybe you'll go watch it because i think uh i don't know. Maybe so i walk in a movie theater right. I live in oklahoma, there's a there's, a movie theater amc movie theater! That's like a five-minute drive away from me right and i go in and we know we're gon na watch dr strange there's a line and the line's actually pretty decently long. Let me tell you uh.

There was probably about eight to ten showings of doctor strange. That was going to take place. You know on that specific day that we went uh, but there was a pretty good line. I bet you.

There was about 35 40 people in line there, uh that have kind of just been coming and going. You know through the through the line for the majority of the movie we're getting through when we get the tickets and i get uh. You know the the large large thing of uh diet, coke and my only complaint actually is that they're out of pop in one of the machines? But you know that's that's here nor there whatever. So i get like my coke and i actually noticed one thing that i'm sure some people would complain about that.

I i find to be interesting and uh it's that they marked up their food prices quite a bit uh. Now i remember going to a movie theater. You buy a milk duds and those things cost you like: 30 bucks, i'm exaggerating. Obviously, that's maybe like eight right uh, but to get a couple of diet.

Cokes and the tickets was like, like a 50 uh, 45 trip uh, which is actually a a good thing right. This is this is going to increase the overall profit margins of the company, and i i i'm actually on board with that. You know it's about supply and demand when you're in a specific location where you can now, you know, get the supply. Uh demand goes uh up according to the supply, and you got to pay more for that uh that food overall, which is probably why you know the previous couple quarters amc, seemed better overall revenue in their uh, their their food right.

So we get, we get our stuff, we go into the movie and i'm not gon na give any spoilers no spoilers ahead. Uh. But doctor strange was a psychedelic experience. This movie uh was a trippy one.

I wouldn't. I would recommend watching this if you've got like uh epilepsy or something because tracking some of the movements and the special effects and uh the the way that the characters interact with the environment, uh was a trip. I mean there's really no other way to put that uh and there was actually a pretty good twist thrown into there. One of the previous marvel characters, kind of takes a role that you wouldn't really expect within the movie uh, and it's a little bit darker than you would have expected, and this this movie overall, let me just show you how the revenue was on opening weekend.
Uh did very well, dr strange two take 61 million dollars in second box office weekend, top 650 million dollars uh globally - and this is these are phenomenal numbers, and i got to say you know, first and foremost, that i didn't think the previous quarter at amc was Going to be uh as good as it was, i thought it would actually be a little worse off than q4 and i was proven wrong because people went to watch the movies uh. They were making good business decisions. You know, given the the cost of food and the cost of drinks and uh, all those sort of different things and the movies are doing well, people are showing up to them. Uh.

There was one debate actually on doctor strange here that i found to be interesting and it was uh. Some people on twitter were saying that this movie should not have been rated pg-13, and i actually found that to be uh kind of interesting. I remember i sat down and i said ma uh, you know they're saying this movie, that's supposed to be pg-13. I don't know how i feel about that.

You know uh. I guess i guess we'll wait and watch it, but i watched it through and there was a couple of death scenes that kind of pushed the line but uh. I think pg-13 like a hard pg-13 right about where it should have been it was. It was a it was a good movie for for uh uh for marvel death scenes uh the way that the character sort of interacted a little bit darker, maybe uh in comparison overall.

But if you're into that sort of thing, i don't think you can really write that up any better uh, because, according to the actual story of what happens with doctor strange and this uh, this specific story, that's just kind of how it goes. You know that's how the story goes, so they told it and uh they told it pretty. Well. I'd say i'd.

Give it like, like an eight two, eight two out of ten uh doctor strange is my favorite marvel character. Uh. I know this is cliche, because every every guy uh says the same thing. They say iron man is my favorite character, but i'm just a big robber, bounty, junior simp man.

I can't that there's nothing else for me to say uh, but this is a good movie, and the reason that i wanted to talk about this in the first place is uh. There are things fundamentally that an investor in a company can do outside of buying stock. To support the company right uh and it's to actually go out and buy product from the company. Now i i don't go to every single movie, i'll i'll, be honest here right.

I don't go to a movie every single week and i'll go five days a week. Once maybe, once a month, once every two months, i'll i'll go and check out something that looks interesting to me uh. But these are things that directly impact the company that you're invested in and the reason that the reason that the company is uh fundamentally improving is because investors in the company an innocent. You know every day i say innocent because they're, not the the short-selling uh hedge that that you know dick around.
With this thing they go watch movies. They go buy food they go buy from the recession, stand concession recession. The recession stand, you can tell we've been in a bear market for too long, but they go buy stuff from the concession stand and these things really make a difference, and i wanted to be able to talk about that in the first place and uh. You know share with you all uh, because this genuinely can make an impact on the long scheme of things in a bear market.

The situation that you know the entirety of the market's in right now uh it's very hard for even fundamentally sound companies to survive, to survive, sort of the blast. That's hitting right, you can think of it as a big bomb, just smacking down on wall street and it spreads across everything right. It hits. It hits uh every stock in the market, but the companies that bounce back stronger uh have a couple things in common, really strong core investing uh.

You know investors uh, as well as good fundamentals and the fundamentals of this company are continuing to improve. But there's no cap on that right, there's, hypothetically speaking, an infinite cap on how much a company can improve, especially ones such as ours as our company amy uh. Having come off of basically a death sentence, uh from the kova 19 lockdowns, when movie theaters, really went through the ringer. So overall you know great experience.

I love going to amc movie theaters. I've said this before i'll share this story again: uh, the the the first kiss that i had shared was actually uh watching a movie in an amc movie theater. I know that sounds wild uh, you're thinking yourself, trey uh. I know you're 19 years old and you get your first, but it wasn't that bad all right.

Maybe i was like 13 14 but uh. It was there and i come back to you - know, going to watch iron man with my old man and i think back and he used to say uh when we were watching his kids. Maybe this is why i like iron man, so much he would say uh trey one day when the avengers comes out. Uh, i'm gon na be very excited because he read all the comic books.

He read the the marvel comic books and he was really into that stuff. Uh and i was super excited to go watch with him because he was into it. You know, and unfortunately he never got to. You know to watch uh the avengers when it came out in theaters uh, because you know things happen.

He passed away but uh. Thankfully i did and every movie that i go to always hits home. It's an opportunity for you to uh to witness something in a way that you really can't experience on a tv at your crib, so uh take the time to go. Watch a movie or two.
You know. Maybe you don't like doctor strange, but maybe you're gon na, like top gun maverick that comes out uh. That's not particularly my cup of tea. I know i'm probably gon na get a whole bunch of whole bunch of people to come.

It's like wow, but that's i don't know, i'm excited for avatar too that'll be good jurassic world. Just your basic stuff. You know that uh, the the movies that that people say are cliche and just superhero movies, but i like superhero movies. I don't know they're good uh, it's pretty simple, i don't know i want to get straight to the point.

I wanted to just talk about this because uh. I think it does make a difference. You know, and especially now anything can make a difference so um. That was my experience.

It was good. I love amc. The chairs are comfy that coke tasted, good uh popcorn's good movie was good. That's what i got, what i got catch y'all later: much lovely taps, peace,.

Trey you built your brand on championing AMC, don't know why you seemingly changed directions….It would be great for the movement to have the old Trey back on board……🚀🌖

Well yeah… The fundamentals of AMC are even better than GME… So yes, if you wait it out you will get a big fat paycheck… It is practically guarantied.
The question is can the people wait it out with everything that is going on in the world?
