Let me just say I speak from experience. My daughter has had her Dexcom g5 and now g6 cgm for years. The reason why they make so much money is because they last 7-10 days, and go faulty sometimes. Theres also transmitters you have to replace that aren’t cheap and they can charge whatever they want because they are covered under Medicare. So every month we get a new batch of a bunch of transmitters.
If eversense comes out with a 180 day implant I just don’t see it reaching dexcom prices. There’s just no way.
But I do see it reaching near it. I’m bullish because I would love for this company to succeed. It would mean the word to me to not have to change my little girls belly and arm patches every 7-10 days! Not spreading fud, just opinions.
Senseonics is my favorite stock in the medical field. The fact that the number #1 company in the diabetic field I think only has a 10-14 day glucose monitoring and SENS has a 180 day awaiting approval is crazy.
I guess I have to consider that $300 for Trey is throwaway money, while for someone else it may not be. Just keep this in mind.
Calls for SENS didn't exactly pan out. That's cool though. Always appreciate the effort and passion you give. You can't win them all.

There are 2 types of diabetes; type 1 is an autoimmune disease, it’s type 2 that is prevalent with obesity. A lot of type 1 diabetics are diagnosed in childhood, like my son who’s 7, diagnosed at 6. The stigma that too much sugar and/or junk food causing type 1 is hard on kids, everyone thinks they aren’t allowed any or only very little, low blood glucose needs sugar to bring up quickly. Type 1 is more common in recent years, cgm’s are almost a necessity for a type 1 diabetic. Eversense isn’t approved for children, which is a large percentage of patients who use dexcom
So FDA takes less than a year to push through an experimental covid vaccine but drags their feet for years on something like SENS that already has proven tech?
There is one big issue with these medical tech devices. Insurance. If your insurance doesn't cover sensonics then thats game over. Most people cannot afford the products without insurance. Unfortunately the game is rigged in the medical insurance field, like it is in the stock market. Sensonics is a better system then dexcom. However, dexcom has insurance on lock. They all cover the expense. So if sensonics want to play with the big boys they need to get insurance companies behind their product. I am a shareholder in sensonics. It will be an uphill battle, but I think they have a superior product.

I do want to say, as a type one diabetic, one thing they are missing is it communicating to an insulin pump. My Dexcom talks to my tandem pump and that pump makes changes to insulin delivery to help regulate my blood sugar. If sensonics didn’t have that capability I would not switch.
I have a TON of shares in SENS at a $1.88 average price, for a long term hold..this is near and dear to my heart because this technology was not around when my only sibling lost her battle with diabetes… Thank you so much for covering this and talking about the company.
